Sustainability & Positive Impact

Creating Experiences That Leave a Positive Legacy

At Pranafest, we believe wellbeing extends beyond the individual. It encompasses the health of our communities, the environment, and the places that bring us together.

As a festival dedicated to connection, mindfulness and conscious living, we are committed to creating meaningful experiences while minimising our environmental footprint and contributing positively to the communities and landscapes that support us.

Hosted within the beautiful natural surrounds of Woodfordia, Pranafest embraces the philosophy that every event has an opportunity to leave a lasting positive impact, not only for those who attend, but also for the environment and future generations.

Our Commitment

Sustainability at Pranafest is guided by three key principles:

Caring for the Environment

We continually seek opportunities to reduce our environmental impact through thoughtful planning and responsible event operations.

Our initiatives include:

  • Encouraging attendees to bring reusable water bottles, coffee cups and food containers.

  • Working with food vendors to minimise single-use plastics and prioritise sustainable packaging wherever possible.

  • Providing clearly identified waste, recycling and composting stations throughout the festival precinct.

  • Reducing printed materials through digital ticketing, online programs and electronic communications.

  • Encouraging carpooling and shared transport options to reduce travel emissions.

  • Working with suppliers who share our commitment to environmentally responsible practices wherever possible.

Supporting Community

Pranafest exists to strengthen connection.

Each year we create opportunities for hundreds of facilitators, musicians, artists, wellness practitioners, volunteers, local businesses and community organisations to share their knowledge, creativity and passion with thousands of attendees.

By supporting local suppliers, engaging regional businesses and showcasing Australian practitioners, we contribute to the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of our wider community.

Respecting Country

Pranafest respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we gather and pays our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

We recognise that caring for Country represents one of the world's oldest and most enduring sustainability practices. We are committed to fostering cultural respect and creating opportunities for our community to learn from and celebrate First Nations knowledge, culture and connection to Country.

Supporting Woodfordia's Environmental Legacy

Pranafest is proud to be hosted at Woodfordia — a venue internationally recognised for its long-term commitment to environmental stewardship and land regeneration.

Over many decades, Woodfordia has undertaken significant work to restore native ecosystems, regenerate waterways, enhance biodiversity and protect the natural landscape. By hosting Pranafest within this unique environment, we are privileged to contribute to and support this ongoing legacy of environmental care.

We encourage all attendees to treat the land with respect and embrace the shared responsibility of leaving the site as beautiful as we found it.

Continuous Improvement

Sustainability is an ongoing journey.

Each year, we review our operations, gather feedback from our community and identify new opportunities to improve our environmental, social and cultural impact.

Our commitment is to continue evolving our practices in line with industry best practice while remaining true to the values that define Pranafest: connection, wellbeing, respect and regeneration.

Our Sustainability & Climate Action Plan

Our Sustainability & Climate Action Plan outlines the practical actions we are taking to reduce our environmental footprint, strengthen community outcomes and continually improve the sustainability of Pranafest.

Together, We Create Positive Impact

Every ticket purchased, every volunteer contribution, every local supplier engaged and every mindful choice made by our community contributes to something greater than a festival.

Together, we are creating experiences that nourish people, celebrate community and help protect the places we gather.
